New addition..........

No, the baby isn't here yet.....but a flat screen tv on the porch is!!!! I finally broke Megan down and we now have a tv on the screened porch for March Madness and The Masters. It is truly amazing what 2 screws can hold up especially when it is mounted onto the backside of our brick fireplace.

Ok, enough about the tv:).......my lovely wife is now 19 weeks and looks beautiful. I am constantly amazed at the horror stories other people tell me about pregnant women.She has had NO morning sickness, NO random bouts of moodiness, and little to no clumsiness or forgetfulness. I am a lucky man.

Next week we head on a little vacation either to Hilton Head or Amelia Island. We are waiting to the last minute to decide to pick the optimal weather and warmth! Hope everyone is well and we will check in from vacation.

Remembering my Dad...

Four years ago today, we lost my Dad. I know the day someone dies is not the date you should remember/celebrate them, but I cannot help it because my whole world changed that day. As so, every year on this day - March 20th - my mind reverts back to the news, the phone call, and the sadness I remember feeling, and still feel.

Sure, life goes on & it gets easier with time, but it doesn't make you forget -- for that, I am grateful.
I have so many great memories & I know that he LOVED his family...and would be proud of us all.

So, Dadd, I don't know how Heaven works but I hope you know that I love you and MISS you more than words can say...You are going to be a grandpa soon :) which I'm sure you know, so please keep a watchful eye over both granddaughters...I love you.

PS. On a HAPPY note -- Our friends, TJ & Jen, who we had dinner with on St Patty's Day, also found out they are having a girl! Yay for little girls!!!

We had our ultrasound technician put the "results" in an envelope....

She signed & sealed so no one could cheat :)

We quickly just went next door to Starbucks (in an effort to open privately, but of course there are millions of people in Starbucks at all times :) to OPEN!

WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! it's a baby GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She was sucking her thumb during the ultrasound - SO cute.

The ultrasound appt was great, despite the part where the baby was laying on a major artery of mine & I felt like I was going to faint while laying on the table. Her anatomy looks great & she is measuring ahead of schedule! 

Eric & I are thrilled :) and thank you ALL for your words of excitement and encouragement!

Babysitting & St Patty's Day!

Well we survived a weekend of babysitting :) We had a great time with 6 yr old Mitch -- who has boundless energy and is the source of my fear should Thursday's results say BOY....and we also got to spend time with Trevor (sophomore in college @ Virginia Tech) & Meg (senior in high school) -- the source of my fear should Thursday's results say GIRL since you have to worry about boyfriends but you do get to shop for Prom Dresses :)
Needless to say, we didn't get too much sleep, especially with daylight savings & will need a few days to recover....Plus I stayed up too late with the girls last night watching the Bachelor pick Emily! Yay!

As St Patrick's Day approaches, I am getting excited! Not only is it THE day we find out the baby's gender, but the holiday has a lot of fun memories for me/us.....GOOD TIMES!

week 17

One week from today and we'll be (hopefully) finding out if this little baby is a boy or a girl!!! I cannot WAIT!

Not much to report here. I had training for work in Durham all weekend, but did manage to squeeze time in to see my sister/feel Hailey kick (wow!), see my darling friend Mary, and see my Tarheels beat the TAR out of the Dookies. It was heavenly...especially since one of my co-workers, went to Duke & played Lacrosse, decided (obviously before the game) to play a little prank...

(I cannot believe I am even posting this....)
I DROVE with this all the way to my sister's house!!! didn't realize it until I got out of the car to lock it -- mortifying!!!
Needless to say it was even MORE fun that we won after this :) and the house was in 1 piece when I got home on Sunday with the TARHEEL Flag flying!! -- so win/win -- ha!

Off to babysit Mitch, our nephew, this weekend in Virginia....Looking forward to seeing Trevor & Megan too! Hopefully I'll remember my camera & will be able to showcase some photos.
Until then, the belly is growing like crazy & we are counting down the days to next Thursday!!

week 17

Heels Wednesday

Heels up 3 with 13 minutes left...Hope they can pull off a win since nobody is a fan of the 'noles (sorry Garrett)

I thought I'd take this time to fill people in with my wife's eating habits the past 4 months
1st came "double cheeseburger meal Sundays" from McDonalds...for a while
next was the onslaught of half gallons of ice cream to both of our freezers, because we obviously need 6 at a time....and some evening runs to TCBY & ColdStone Creamery..
Now after a quick stint with bagels, she seems to want either frosted mini wheats or special K at any and all hours.
Just when I'm about to buy stock in one of her cravings, McDonalds/Edy's/Coldstone/General Mills, she changes her mind & now I think we should just buy a farm with lots of cows b/c 4 gallons of skim milk aren't enough each week!

As for me, I've enjoyed all of the above :) & need to start walking the golf course instead of riding in the cart to prepare for our trip to Amelia Island at the end of this month.
I'll leave you with the latest picture and I'm glad to finally get a chance to get a word in here -- she's been hogging the blog :)

week 16

Is it Monday again already???

Truthfully I find 5 days of work with 2 days off less than ideal...It should be more fairly split :), right?
We just make the best with what we've got though, and that's what we did this weekend as well!

Friday night we went bowling...Saturday we took Maddie to Starbucks (our fur baby is pictured below) in the morning, went to a party with Eric's work crew (me observing tequila shots is not pictured) and had dinner with Judd & Kristy at Paco Taco...Sunday, I drove to Raleigh & back for my sister's baby shower while Eric played golf in Charlotte. Annie & I had a great few hours together -- lunch, pedicures, and the wonderful shower...She looks AMAZING with only 6 weeks to go -- I can only pray to look that good.

Also --I have got to mention how proud I am to call myself a HOKIE (by marriage) with their performance this weekend. They sure beat up on those Dookies, didn't they? Hopefully my Tarheels can do more of the same next Saturday -- cheer 'em on & wear your baby blue!

That's it from the Parker household for now....at least Monday offers 1 good thing -- the Bachelor is on tonight :)
