meeting Grandma...week @ the beach...Karmen's wedding!

It's been a busy few weeks for Miss Sutton! She's now 6 1/2 wks old....went to the beach for the first time & finally got to meet her Grandma :)

We had a wonderful (but too quick!) time in Isle of Palms...Karmen's wedding was ABSOLUTELY beautiful, and I am so grateful that my Mom was able to fly in to be with Sutton. A memorable time for us all, and I'll HATE to see Mom leave tomorrow :(

Back to work in less than two weeks which will be tough, but it would be difficult at 8 wks, 10 wks, 30 wks...part of it I guess. She is growing so fast -- I think she is in or just finished a growth spurt -- and already has such a fun little personality.

Sutton's 1 month birthday!

Happy Birthday to Sutton!!! She turned one month yesterday :)
We cannot believe how fast time has gone already.......slow down!

We went for her 1 month check-up today & to quote the doctor -- "She is perfect."
We couldn't have said it any better & fully agree!
She weighs 10 lbs, 3 oz & is now 22 inches long -- that equates to 75th percentile in weight & 90th percentile in length.

Thank you all for your texts, emails, cards, thoughts, prayers, dinners, etc...during her first month & to celebrate her coming into our lives. We are so grateful for you!!

Sutton got to meet her cousin, Hailey, and Aunt Annie this week! They were both here for Sutton's 3 week birthday - ha!
We had a great time together, and Hailey has grown up so much - she's such a fun, happy little girl.
But two babies under the age of 6 months will wear you out!! Props to those with twins :)

Today Sutton moved from our room (she was sleeping in a Moses basket on our dresser) to her room. She is in the basket in her crib (I need babysteps;), but we feel like she just left for college...proud and scared all at the same time! I know this is the first of many accomplishments for us both! Ha!

I promise we'll get better!

Hi everyone! Sutton is 2 weeks old and I'm finally posting some pics of her here! I am so sorry for the huge delay & I promise we'll get better about updating the blog more frequently -- once we get some sleep :) hahah likely story :)

We are doing well here, overall. Sutton is the world's best baby...Eric is such an amazing dad & is helping with EVERYTHING....and I am slowly getting back to normal. The C section slowed me down and now I have an infection @ my incision (& am subsequently allergic to the antibiotics -- hello rash -- to help w/ the infection) but as my mom always says "This too shall pass".

Just a quick update, without pics (technical challenges for the sleep deprived)

We welcomed our beautiful daughter, Sutton Claire Parker, into the world on Saturday August 13th at 8:34pm. My labor did not progress so I ended up with a C-section but none of that matters now. We have the most wonderful gift and are so in love !!

More tomorrow with pics but just wanted to share our extreme joy!

Come on Sutton!!!

Blogging from the hospital......got here last night around midnight after Megan's water broke. But an epidural and 13 hours later she hasn't arrived yet.......stubborn little girl:)

Quick update -- still waiting!

Happy Hot Summer Sunday everyone!

Well, I thought Sutton was coming early & here I am, still hugely pregnant. Guess that just shows me who is really in charge :) obviously NOT me!
The ultrasound this week estimated her weight at 8lbs, 11 oz...and I'm praying that the ultrasound is OVER-measuring her! Our doctor has agreed to induce me on my due date if she's not here yet, so I've basically got <10 days!
He would induce me earlier (legally he can't until Wednesday, Aug 10th when I'm 39 weeks) but he's not on call and at the hospital during that week until the 17th.
Hopefully I'll get there on my own before, but Sutton seems to be pretty cozy!

Other than that, Eric & I are trying to savor ever second until she's here! Out for dinners, going to movies, he's playing golf, sleeping in on the weekend....But I'm still trying every wives tales I've heard to try to get her here!! I've just made some Labor Inducing Eggplant Parmigiana, supposed to get me going w/in 48 hrs!! ha!
