It's JUNE tomorrow!?

I cannot believe it's already June & we're definitely into summer in Charlotte. 97 degrees today - yuk! Way too hot for this pregnant lady :)

So, quick updates!!! Eric not only survived his 3 night Vegas trip w/ Judd, South, & Rob but came out AHEAD!!! Take that, Vegas & thank you to Preakness winner Shackelford, who had 12-1 odds....ha!

While he hit the blackjack tables, I hit the beach...Isle of Palms specifically, for Karmen's "girls weekend" (not allowed to call it a bachelorette party b/c we're in our 30s now she says...REALLY!?). We had a fabulous weekend -- great food, great laughs, great weather -- and it just went too quickly. I'll post a few pics below.

Memorial day weekend was event-filled with our first baby shower! Katie & Garrett threw us a "couples shower" that ranks at the top of any/all showers I will ever hope to attend. They pulled out all the stops with a full spread of Mexican grub & New Belgium kegs, that proved a little "heavy" for the beer pong table out back :) We probably all overstayed our welcome, but it was just too fun. We feel very lucky to have such wonderful friends in our lives!!

Friday we're off to slightly cooler VA for our niece, Meg's, graduation from high school & to celebrate Pop's birthday! We are really looking forward to seeing the fam -- been too long. Meg will be heading to App State next year & we're happy to have her in OUR state :)

As for our daughter, tomorrow is 29 weeks....into the 3rd trimester with 11 weeks to go! She is constantly on the move & Eric witnessed a little bit of the 'alien belly' tonight. He's felt plenty of kicks with his hand, but hasn't seen the contortionist act until tonight -- it is absolutely mind-blowing! I am to the point of counting down the days to meet her. I cannot wait!

Maddie had a wonderful 15th birthday. We celebrated by having our wonderful neighbors, who let Maddie out during the day, come over for ice cream sundaes....and Maddie enjoyed a plate of vanilla herself! It's amazing she doesn't get a brain freeze -- she eats it SO fast!

Our friends Amanda & Chris came in town this weekend....Amanda is pregnant again & due a few weeks before me, and we had a ball playing with their 19month old, Josephine. She is the happiest little girl ever!

Tonight I'm heading down to Charleston for Karmen's bachelorette party for the weekend -- I am so excited for more beach time & lots of girl time!!! Eric heads to Vegas tomorrow through Monday with the boys, and he's pretty happy himself. Send lots of good luck thoughts his way for the tables :) ha!

My Mom is in Raleigh for a week right now visiting baby Hailey and Andrea....I wish I could be in two places at once! Sounds like Hailey has already grown so much & they are having a blast!

Week 26-Trip to Charleston

Just about 2/3 of the way to the arrival of our daughter. Seems so hard to believe....time is flying all of a sudden. We spent 3 nights in Isle of Palms this past weekend and lots of it was parked on the beach reading books and soaking up sun. We also got to see my buddy Steve(Cbass) and his wife and son Sulli. Was great to finally meet the little man. Lots of good food and some rest was enjoyed by all.

Now back in Charlotte we are celebrating our current baby's birthday tomorrow......the funny thing is....this baby is turning 15. This of course is Maddie. She is being spoiled and appears to be enjoying her late years just fine!

week 26 belly

our visit with Hailey!

Last weekend we went to see Hailey, my new niece! She is absolutely even MORE precious than I could have expected and my sister is constantly amazing me with how "easy" she makes having a newborn look (though she says its quite difficult!). I am so proud of her & happy for their family :)

This past Wednesday marked 7 years to the day that Eric & I met.....at the Wachovia Championship golf tournament (yes, it's changed names 3x in 7 yrs) with our different groups of friends over a long afternoon. Its always particularly touching to me since my mom & dad met on the golf course too :)

This weekend, Eric & I are off to Charleston, well really to Isle of Palms (the BEACH!) for some fun in the sun in my oh-so-hot maternity bathing suit :) We'll be sure to post pictures (thankfully not of my swimsuit) when we get back and a new big belly picture.

Easter with Mom & Dave....and an updated belly pic!

Quick post with some updated pics of our Easter fun with Mom & Dave! We had a wonderful time & enjoyed some great weather (though I hope the 80's in April isn't a sign for the rest of the summer!!!). We spent lots of time on the porch watching golf & such and ate like kings/queens for days :)


My belly is growing & baby girl is moving ALL the time -- I love it :) I am measuring still about 1-2 weeks ahead of schedule, but the doctor I saw on Monday didn't seem too concerned about that or my weight gain (which is in line for where I should be!)....Much better news that my last (male) doctor who warned me away from French Fries (seriously!? I am pregnant!!!!! like that'll happen :)

We are hoping to get to Raleigh for a day/night this weekend to meet baby Hailey! I'll post pics when we return :)

Hailey is Here!

Hi everyone & happy Easter weekend!

So sorry for the delay in posts over the last week+....things have been quite busy! So busy we even forgot to take a belly picture this week :) but rest assured it's still growing & I am confident that at my doctor's appt on Monday, they tell me again that she's measuring a couple weeks ahead of schedule. She can't help it :) She likes food (and sweets!) like her mama!

The most exciting news this week is that I am an AUNT!!!! My sister had her baby on Monday night, after a grueling labor (which ended in a c-section). Both mom & baby are doing well and are home now....I can't wait to meet the precious bundle in the next week or so! She is perfect!

Masters Weekend!!!

Hello All.......first a moment of silence for our boy Rory McIlroy.......what a final round.

We had a great weekend here with our friends Heather and Mark Phelps in town (from MD) and their little guy, Ian . Got to play golf Friday and Saturday while watching lots of golf after the rounds. Mexican seemed to also be the theme of the weekend with Paco Taco Friday night and Zapatas for Sunday lunch.

South had the low round of the weekend with a 70 (32 on the back) and possibly the greatest par I have ever seen. On a par 3 he hit his tee shot right onto a walking bridge. It literally stopped on a bridge with no railing. He hit a wedge off the wooden bridge to 6 feet and sunk the putt for par. Should have been on Sportscenter!!

Meg is doing great. Belly is growing and we are anxiously awaiting the birth of her sister's little girl. Annie was due yesterday and saw the doc today but looks like it could be a few more days before Hailey is here......

I will include some pics from the weekend and of course the 22 week belly.
